Dawn Chorus Ignites, a guitar based, instrumental 4 piece from Kingsbridge, performed at the Royal Oak Malborough on Friday 2 May.
The band, which comprises of Mat Cook (guitar), Ben Philcox (guitar), James Shepherd (bass) and Alex Gray (drums), formed at the end of 2006.
Since then they have written an extensive collection of original guitar based material and recently finished their first E.P 'Signs' and are working towards another E.P which will be released by Bristol-based Indie label Distant Noise this September.
In their music you can expect to hear early nineties inspired Shoegaze combined with driving pace-fuelled post-rock, a mixture of effect-based soundscapes and searing guitar melodies, intelligent chord progressions and sudden dynamic intensity.
