Children at a South Hams primary school have spent a week investigating sustainability and environmental issues.
All the children at Malborough Primary School, near Kingsbridge, were involved in the Eco Week earlier this month.
During the week the children visited different venues and invited visitors into the school to talk about their work.
They learned about food chains, the importance of trees, the work of the Barn Owl Trust, how useful bird boxes are and making a wormery.
Their visits included Plymouth Aquarium, Paignton Zoo, the South Milton Sewage Works and Avon Mill Garden Centre.
Headteacher Sandra Higdon said: "The environment is an increasingly important subject for us all.
"But our children are the ones who will feel the consequences of what our generation has done.
"We felt it was important to devote a whole week of learning to these issues.
"The whole school was involved and all the children had great fun."
